A Pro User is a professional embroiderer. They receive payment for their services, apply logos, monograms or other embellishment to the apparel or home goods of others, and may sell apparel. They have a tax ID number from the federal government and may have a tax resale certificate from their state.

Semi-Pro User does not run embroidery equipment in order to make a profit. They may receive occasional payment for goods they embellish, but not enough to declare as income. The Semi-Pro can be considered a hobbyist or artist depending on the direction and originality of the designs they create or produce.
